BSI Kitemark (PAS 1188:4) Accredited Rapidam
BSI Kitemark PAS 1188:1 Building Apertures
For protecting doors, windows and airbricks from flood water, the relevant Kitemark is PAS 1188:1 for Building Apertures. FGSL was the first company in the world to have received this coveted accreditation for products including protection for single and double airbricks and door sizes from a standard door to a patio door.
The standard and certification achieved is your confirmation that the products were successfully tested at HR Wallingford in Oxfordshire one of Europe’s leading hydrological test centres, against the criteria set out in the PAS document. The manufacturing procedures are also subject to quality control to ensure the products are provided to the marketplace as fit for purpose.
The range of Floodguards was developed together over the past ten years to provide a complete system of protection against water ingress through the primary routes. The complete product range also includes sump pump, non-return valves, perimeter protection, masonry protection, early-warning flood alarm and secure storage units.
BSI Kitemark PAS 1188:4 Temporary Barrier
For linear barriers, communities systems, perimeter systems etc the appropriate accreditation is PAS 1188:4. Only 3 systems have gained this accreditation since its inception in 2003 of which Rapidam was the second. This assures our marketplace that the product has been successfully tested at HR Wallingford to a protection height of 900mm, against static water, rapid currents and direct waves.
Much of the accreditation criterion was formed from the experience of extensive testing and development of Rapidam at HR Wallingford over a period of 3 months on 2001. This privately paid for test helped set the benchmark for the BSI criteria later applied via the PAS 1188:4.
