Local Authorities
Floodguards has been instrumental in helping DEFRA, the Environment Agency and Local Authorities to
provide property level protection to homes at risk of flooding throughout the UK. We can offer a tailored service to
meet the exact specifications of the commissioning Local Authority or Housing Association. We offer unrivalled levels
of support and knowledge when it comes to designing and implementing schemes to cover large numbers of properties, as
well as offering a unique service to individual properties. Fundamentally, we are able to cater for and cope with large
scale single supplier contracts as well as home owner choice delivery methods.
Floodguards can carry out property level flood mitigation surveys which initially identify the risks of flooding to a
property, and then this report forms the basis for being able to strategically analyse the most appropriate form
of flood protection method required to help better protect the property from the initial source of flooding.
Over the last few years we have helped multiple Local Authorities to protect properties in their respective geographic
areas via the DEFRA Property Level Resistance and Resilience Scheme. In addition, Defra has also committed a sizeable
budget for schemes throughout the 2011/12 financial year as well, with programmes for flood protection products being
funded across the country. We can help Local Authorities to plan and implement strategy for any size scheme they would
like to carry out.
Floodguards track record over the past 10 years shows we have the ability and experience to deliver projects on time and
to suit budgetary restraints. Combine this to our very high levels of customer satisfaction and we believe that
Floodguards would be an ideal partner to deliver any Local Authority Property Level protection scheme.
